Gutidentity – Why I do What I do

For the past 4 years, I’ve been on an incredible journey of gaining everything, losing everything, and then gaining everything from losing everything! What a ride! Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom, wipe the slate clean, and start again. The journey has brought amazing people into my life, my creating has helped turn my life around, and I’ve learned so much along the way. This is why I do what I do. I create video infographics to share the information I’ve learned through the process in the hope it helps others to do the same.

I truly believe we are all here for a reason and that each individual brings with them unique qualities that they can share with the world. And while my stuff started off as just gut health, I realised there was so much more to having a balanced and happy life, and that I needed to share what I discovered. That the very foundations of health, stem from a true understanding of who we really are and that health comes from within us, not from anything external.

Pinterest creating, sharing info, & my internal need to help others

If you know me from Pinterest, you’ll be familiar with my video infographics. This was the start of my journey in gathering the information that’s helped me and putting them into visually appealing graphics for others to learn from. These have all been based on my personal experiences over my life but particularly the past 4 years. It’s kinda morphed during this time.

While initially starting off when 2020 began as really just looking at the unique makeup of the gut and how this impacts our brain health, things changed and I went into overdrive putting information out there to help others improve their lives. Personally, I like info to be presented in a simple way hence why I started creating infographics. I’m also a lover of memes for this same reason.

2020 & moving forward

So back to 2020. Welcome to the shi*show!!! Grateful for it in so many ways. Words cannot actually express how grateful I am. For me, it helped me re-evaluate my life and what was important. My health was my top priority after spending most of 2019 getting my health back after becoming very ill (read more about me here).

I felt I couldn’t help people in a physical way due to draconian lockdown measures imposed on our humanity, so I decided to help people virtually and that this could be done by putting info into graphics. I did this on Pinterest. Following what was right in my heart (and gut) was at the forefront of my creating, not what was easy. Life is about cooperation, not competition. Sure, competition is ok if it’s the healthy kind, but not the kind where you stand on others to get what you want. 2020 set off a chain reaction of events that have had such a positive impact on my life as a whole.

humans – how fascinating are we?

People are amazing. Every single one is unique. I find this fascinating. The different talents, skills, and knowledge are what make us who we are. Unlike any species on this planet, we have the opportunity to share what we know with others. It’s such a unique gift and one that needs to be acknowledged. Usually, the only thing that holds us back from sharing what we know, or pursuing what we really want to do, is our perception of what others think of us. Just remember, who is living your life? You, or somebody else? If you have an idea, share it. It could just be the next big thing.

do what is right, not what is popular

Standing up for those less fortunate, those that need a voice, and those who need help has always been something that I believe should be ingrained into our society. This is something that is inherently natural to me and something I’ve always done for as long as I can remember. Sometimes we have to stand alone if we feel something is unjust. This is not easy but doing what is morally right, is more important than what is popular. This can be really hard to do and it requires a lot of inner strength. But at the end of the day, we have to do what feels right in our hearts. Our inner voice will always guide us to what is right. Listen.

believe in your abilities

I think this comes from my belief that no matter what the ability, there’s always somewhere we can improve our lives, even if it’s just a little bit. And when we work together, the communal impact we can have on all our lives as a whole can be dramatic. By helping each other, we can have a happy, balanced, and mutually beneficial life that benefits everyone. This is what I try to portray through my work and graphics.

Keep going – keep trying

So, whether you have found this post by chance, or found me through Pinterest, I hope that my graphics help you improve your situation, even if it’s just a little bit. Remember that we all have something to share with the world. Explore your talents. Explore your gifts. Share your knowledge of your experiences because it might just help someone in a similar situation. Let go of fear. Once this happens, anything is possible.
